Leonie Lacouette began crafting clocks over forty years ago, blending her artistic training with a practical vision to create timepieces that are as functional as they are beautiful. Her journey started in her studio, where she created her first clock using mechanisms ordered from a magazine ad. After her initial designs sold out immediately, Lacouette found her calling, and she’s been dedicated to the art of clockmaking ever since.
Based in her serene studio in upstate New York, Lacouette reflects on the simplicity and elegance that define her current work. Growing up in the bustle of midtown Manhattan, she appreciates the shift to a more intentional, minimalistic aesthetic. "In Manhattan, everything was always go-go-go, accumulating more and more things," she says. "Now, I love creating something simple and beautiful—a style that’s truly my own."
