Douglas Hays began sculpting steel in 1992 after finishing a B.S. degree in education. He learned metalsmithing while participating in a historical organization. Making reproductions of medieval armor aroused my interest in all forms of metalsmithing. After furthering my skill through study and experimentation, my pastime became an art form. Having been a potter's assistant while earning my B.S. in education, he gained valuable experience from a working artist. Our art is now on display nationwide - publicly and privately - and available at over 400 galleries. Our work is featured in several books including; The Complete Book of Garden Seating, The Ultimate Clock Book, and Simple Metalworking Projects.
Winter 2003 will see our second T.V. special airing: "Modern Masters" for Home & Garden Television. |
